1,2,4,5,6-Pentachloronaphthalene is a photophysical material that is sensitive to light and can produce different emissions depending on the wavelength of the light. This compound has been shown to be able to form organic ligands with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) as well as sulfoxides. Studies have also been done on ring-opening reactions of 1,2,4,5,6-pentachloronaphthalene with benzothiadiazole and ultrafast laser pulses. The linear regression analysis of nmr spectra from 1,2,4,5,6-pentachloronaphthalene has been studied in order to determine its linker.
