Penconazole has been shown to have synergistic effects with other pesticides, such as cypermethrin and propiconazole, which are used in agricultural practices. This agent also has a toxicological profile that is similar to benzene, which is a known carcinogen. The genotoxic effects of penconazole have been studied by using an analytical method based on liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). High values for genotoxic effects were found in mice treated with this substance at concentrations of up to 10 mg/kg body weight.
