Descripción:Phenylalanine methyl ester is a metabolite of phenylalanine that is formed by the action of the enzyme phenylalaninase. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as colony-stimulating factor (CSF) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα). This drug also inhibits amyloid protein aggregation, a process that causes Alzheimer's disease. Phenylalanine methyl ester has been used in clinical trials for treating infectious diseases. The drug increases the number of white blood cells in the body and stimulates antibody production. Phenylalanine methyl ester binds to sodium citrate and forms stable complexes with hydrogen bonds or ionic interactions.
