Poly(vinyl alcohol-co-ethylene) is a biocompatible polymer that has been used as an injection solution for embolization. It has high resistance to oxygen transport, intermolecular hydrogen bonding, and antibacterial efficacy. Poly(vinyl alcohol-co-ethylene) is a copolymer of poly(vinyl alcohol) and ethylene with 32% of the latter. This copolymer is used in the production of monoclonal antibodies and as a material for transporting fluids. Poly(vinyl alcohol-co-ethylene) has been shown to have thermal expansion properties which are greater than those of water vapor, making it suitable for use in environments where temperature fluctuations occur or where changes in humidity occur frequently.
