Propynol ethoxylate is a surface active agent that is used as an emulsifier and wetting agent. It has been shown to be effective against acarids, chloride, organometallic, pyridinium, ethoxylates, integrates, responsiveness, surface active agent, organosilicon and alcohol groups. Propynol ethoxylate also has antibacterial properties which are due to its ability to disrupt the cell membrane of bacteria by reacting with the fatty acids in the cell membrane. This reaction results in the formation of a hydrophilic layer on the outside of the cell membrane which prevents water from entering into the cell. The hydrophilic layer also inhibits respiration by preventing oxygen diffusion across the membrane.END>
