Descripción:Parathion-methyl is an organophosphate pesticide that is used to treat wastewater. It is also used as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of other pesticides. Parathion-methyl inhibits the activity of enzymes that are involved in energy metabolism, such as citrate synthase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. It has been shown to cause acute toxicities in rats, such as convulsions and death. Parathion-methyl is also a fluorescence probe that can be used for analytical purposes.
