5-Phenyl-1,2,4-triazin-3-amine is a heterocyclic compound that consists of an aromatic ring and a nitrogen containing ring. The oxidation product of 5-phenyl-1,2,4-triazin-3-amine is peracetic acid. The orientation of the molecule is determined by dipole moment. The structural studies were performed on the oxide form of the molecule using spectroscopic methods such as NMR and IR. The chemical reaction between 5-phenyl-1,2,4-triazin-3-amine and peracetic acid yields 5-(5'-oxohexanoyl)-1,2,4-[peroxy]-3-[(phenylethynyl)amino]triazine (5OPHT).
