PEG methyl ether (M.W. 500) is a synthetic polymer that contains a methyl ether functional group attached to the PEG backbone. It has been shown that PEG methyl ether can be used as a polymeric matrix for the delivery of protein-based drugs and other biomolecules. The surface properties, conjugation reactions, and growth kinetics of cells cultured with PEG methyl ether have also been studied using microscopy and mass spectrometry.
