Descripción:
1,10-Phenanthroline is a coordination compound that has been shown to bind to DNA. It is a group P2 ligand that forms stable complexes with metal ions. 1,10-Phenanthroline has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, as well as cytotoxic effects on HL60 cells and fluorescence spectroscopy data in the presence of light. The mechanism of this process is not clear but may involve transfer reactions of the phenanthrolines.
