Descripción:Pilocarpic acid sodium salt is a heterocyclic compound with a methylene group at the C5 position. This molecule is an ester derivative of pilocarpine, which is derived from hydroxybenzoic acid and 3-hydroxyphenylacetic acid. Pilocarpic acid sodium salt has been shown to lower intraocular pressure in animals and humans suffering from glaucoma. It also has other utilizable properties, such as its ability to form esters with organic acids that are useful for organic synthesis.
