Descripción:Pimaric acid is a polymeric natural compound that is found in the leaves of usnea, a lichen. It has been shown to have biological properties, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities. Pimaric acid has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi and has been used to treat bowel disease. In addition, pimaric acid has also been shown to have antiviral effects against HIV and influenza A virus infection in vitro. Pimaric acid is chemically stable in vivo as well as in vitro.
