2,4-Pteridinediamine-6-methanol HCl is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of malarial parasites. As it is a single-stranded DNA molecule, it can be used in fluorescence measurements to assess the purity of single-stranded DNA. It has been shown to have antimalarial activity in mammalian cells. This agent is synthesized through an organic chemistry route and purified by chromatography. 2,4-Pteridinediamine-6-methanol HCl contains impurities that could lead to potential impurities.
