Progesterone is also involved in regulating other functions such as cell growth, fat metabolism, blood clotting, and water balance. The level of progesterone in urine has been shown to be a good indicator of follicular growth during ovulation. In women with metabolic disorders or lactogenic hormone deficiencies, low levels of progesterone can lead to infertility.
