Descripción

Pigment violet 23 is a fluorescent dye that belongs to the group of dicyclopentadiene compounds. It is used in plastics and textiles, such as polyacrylonitrile fibres and nylon-6,6. Pigment violet 23 reacts with singlet oxygen, which is generated by irradiation with UV light or by photosensitizing agents. The dye has been shown to produce an intense blue emission when excited by UV light at 350 nm. The color of the light emitted depends on the chemical environment of pigment violet 23 and can be detected by Raman spectroscopy.
