Descripción:Penicillin-G-4-methoxybenzyl ester sulfoxide is an antibiotic that is prepared by the reaction of penicillin G with 4-methoxybenzyl sulfoxide. This antibiotic binds to bacterial cell walls, inhibiting their growth and causing lysis. Penicillin-G-4-methoxybenzyl ester sulfoxide has a lower toxicity than other penicillins and can be used for the treatment of infections caused by penicillinase-producing bacteria. The optimal conditions for this reaction are: toluene, condition, disulfide, optimal, reaction temperature, irradiation time, and azetidinone concentration. Optimal reaction temperatures range from -30 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius; irradiation times range from 1 minute to 30 minutes; and azetidinone concentrations range from 5% to 20%. The optimum microwave irradiation time is 3 minutes at 100 watts power level.
