Descripción:Pigment Red 4 is a polycarboxylic acid that is soluble in ethylene diamine and glycol ester. It has been shown to be an effective drug for the treatment of various skin diseases, such as drug reactions, dermatitis, and eczema. Pigment Red 4 has been found to absorb ultraviolet light and may be used as a sunscreen. The mechanism of action is not clear, but it may inhibit the production of prostaglandin or have other effects on cell metabolism. Pigment Red 4 has also been used in the manufacture of lacquers and enamels because it resists corrosion by water and dilute acids. This pigment can also be mixed with boron nitride to form a chelate ligand that is used in laser ablation.
