Polyoxyethylene castor oil or polyethylene glycol, most commonly referred to as PEGylated castor oil or polyoxyl castor oil, is a non-ionic surfactant and emulsifier. It is widely used as an excipient in pharmaceutical formulations to enhance the solubility, stability, and bioavailability of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Specially effective in water-poor solubility, it increases the dissolution of the API and ensures uniform distribution.
