Poly(allylamine) solution is a polyelectrolyte that contains an allyl group. It is used to treat tumors by light exposure, which inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Poly(allylamine) solution has inhibitory properties and can be used in wastewater treatment as a polymer. This polyelectrolyte also has hydroxyl groups, which are important for its ability to bind to human serum proteins. Poly(allylamine) solution is soluble in water and can be used as a pH buffer, with a pKa of 8.6.
