a-Pinene oxide is a reactive hydroxyl compound that is used in the synthesis of epoxides. It has been shown to be an inhibitor of bacterial growth and is toxic to humans at high concentrations. FT-IR spectroscopy has shown that a-pinene oxide contains hydroxyl groups. Sodium carbonate, which is used in analytical methods as a buffer, reacts with this group to form carbon dioxide gas and sodium hydroxide. The reactive nature of a-pinene oxide makes it suitable for use in cationic polymerization reactions. This product may also be considered for skin cancer treatment due to its anti-inflammatory properties and ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.br>br>
