Descripción:N-Z-Piperazine is a potent amide that has been shown to inhibit the activity of DPP-IV, an enzyme that degrades the incretin hormones glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP). It also inhibits the production of fatty acids by human liver cancer cells. N-Z-Piperazine is an analog of piperazine, which is a molecule used in morphogenetic proteins. This drug is not active against human leukemia cells or other types of cancer. N-Z-Piperazine has been shown to inhibit glucose production in humans and rats, but not in mice. It has also been shown to increase serum levels of cetirizine, a histamine receptor blocker that aids in the treatment of allergies.
