Phenyl Trimethylsilylmethyl Sulfone is an organometallic reagent that can be used as a carbanion, alkylation agent, carbocycle vinylic, or organometallic. It has been shown to form carbocation by reacting with a proton and can be used in the preparation of ketones and alcohols. Phenyl Trimethylsilylmethyl Sulfone reacts with sulfide anions to form alkylsulfides. This reagent is also useful for preparing metallacycles and heterocycles and can be used to prepare sulfones from sulfones. Phenyl Trimethylsilylmethyl Sulfone is stereoselective in its reactions with other molecules.
