It has been shown to have antioxidant properties and may be able to improve insulin sensitivity. 4-Propoxybenzoic Acid can act as an inhibitor of tyrosinase, an enzyme that is involved in the production of melanin. 4-Propoxybenzoic Acid also has the ability to bind with hydrogen chloride, which is the salt of hydrochloric acid. This chemical property makes it stable in acidic environments. 4-Propoxybenzoic Acid has a dipole moment and therefore hydrogen bonding interactions with other polar molecules are possible.4-Propoxybenzoic Acid is soluble in water and therefore can be used as a solute or solvent for other compounds. It also has a high boiling point at 223 degrees Celsius, making it useful as a solvent or reactant in chemical reactions involving heat.
