• Descripción: Pyrogallol-4-carboxylic acid is a phenolic compound that is found in natural compounds. It has been shown to have growth factor activity, and can be used for the treatment of various cancers. Pyrogallol-4-carboxylic acid binds to protocatechuic acid and p-hydroxybenzoic acid. This binding inhibits the enzyme tyrosinase, which is responsible for the synthesis of melanin, thereby reducing pigmentation. Pyrogallol-4-carboxylic acid has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on wastewater bacteria by binding to methoxy groups on their cell membranes.
