Peptide T is a cyclic peptide that is used to treat bowel disease. It has been shown to have a high resistance against the inflammatory process and is capable of modulating the brain functions. Peptide T has also been found to be active against carcinoma cells in cell lines. This drug binds to the surface glycoprotein and receptor activity, which leads to an increase in cytosolic calcium. The increase in calcium levels leads to increased neuronal death and suppression of tumor growth. The biological properties of this drug have been demonstrated using a vitro method with human serum.
