Picfeltarraenin X is a quassinoid that belongs to the class of oleanane-type sesquiterpenoids. Picfeltarraenin X has inhibitory activity against tirucallanes and lupanes, which are plant-derived compounds that have been shown to have cytotoxic effects on cancer cells. The acetate extract of Picfeltarraenin X has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activities in a bioassay. It also has inhibitory effects on cycloartanes and saponins, which are natural products found in plants. Picfeltarraenin X is extracted from the leaves of the tree called "Picfeltara" in the Amazonian region of Peru and Colombia.
