Pyridinium 3-Nitrobenzenesulfonate is a pyridine salt that is used to synthesize 10-deacetylbaccatin, which is an organic compound. The synthesis of this compound requires the use of a high yield solvent, such as an organic solvent. The reaction between 10-deacetylbaccatin and acid catalyst produces the desired product. This synthesis is carried out in two steps: first, the condensation of naphthalene with dichloroacetyl to form 10-deacetylbaccatin methyl ester and then the addition of pyridinium p-toluenesulfonate and hydroxy.
