• Descripción: Pentafluorobenzenesulfonyl chloride is a monosodium salt that is used as an inhibitor in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and other organic chemicals. It has been shown to inhibit human liver cytochrome P450 enzymes by binding to their heme group. Pentafluorobenzenesulfonyl chloride is also an effective reagent for the determination of the proton concentration in aqueous solutions. This compound reacts with hydrochloric acid (HCl) to form pentafluorobenzenesulfonic acid, which can be detected in urine samples at low concentrations. The reaction rate of this compound with HCl is temperature dependent, and its formation rate increases as the temperature decreases. Pentafluorobenzenesulfonyl chloride has also been shown to possess anticancer properties, due to its reactive functional group. Magnetic particles coated with this substance are being developed for use in cancer treatment.
