Descripción:Perfluoro-1,2-ethanediol (PFE) is a perfluorinated compound. It is an important component of fluoropolymer coatings that are used in the manufacture of semiconductor devices and other electronic components. PFE has been shown to be a promising coating material for diode lasers. Electron microscopy studies have shown that PFE coatings can have a significant effect on the morphology of metal surfaces and their substructures. PFE coatings are also resistant to high temperatures, which makes it suitable for use as a protective layer for oxyethylene plastics such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET). PFE is also being studied for its potential in cancer therapy by targeting tumors with radiation.
