Descripción:Perfluoro-15-Crown-5 is a perfluoro compound that has been shown to be an effective oxygen carrier, with increased oxygen-carrying capacity and reduced hemolysis. It also has the ability to increase tumor perfusion in animal models by increasing blood flow to the tumor. Perfluoro-15-Crown-5 has been used for the diagnosis of blood group and for the determination of serological tests. Perfluoro-15-Crown-5 is also effective as a contrast agent in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET). This compound has been shown to inhibit protease activity in human serum and cell cultures. Finally, it can be used as a nanoemulsion or polymeric matrix for drug delivery systems.
