It can be used as a fluoroalkyl or fluoroalkoxy substituent on polymer molecules to increase their resistance to weathering or abrasion. 1H,1H-Perfluorohexan-1-Ol can also be used as a spacer molecule between two polymer chains for the production of urethane or alkyl diisocyanate polymers.
