Descripción

Potassium tetrakis[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]borate (PTB) is a boron compound that is used in the preparation of polymer films. PTB is often used as an additive to improve the physical properties of polymers such as strength and flexibility. It is also used as a polymer matrix for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements on polymers. PTB can be polymerized by free radical initiation or addition polymerization techniques. It also has a high ph-sensitivity and can be used in acidic media. The EIS technique has shown that PTB is insensitive to chloride and tetrahydrofuran anions, but disperses well in methylmethacrylate anions.
