Quercetin 3,4'-diglucoside is a flavonol glycoside that has antiviral activity against influenza virus. It is believed to work by preventing the virus from entering the cells and inhibiting viral replication. Quercetin 3,4'-diglucoside has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of fatty acids in vitro and in vivo, which may account for its anti-inflammatory properties. This compound also has antioxidant properties and can minimise oxidative damage to lipids in vitro. Quercetin 3,4'-diglucoside inhibits influenza virus by interfering with viral attachment to host cells. It also inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators such as leukotrienes and prostaglandins, which are important in asthma.
