Quinine sulfate dihydrate has been shown to affect the cytosolic calcium concentration in erythrocytes and also to inhibit the transfer reactions of ethylene diamine and linear calibration curve for locomotor activity. Quinine sulfate dihydrate also has fluorescence properties that can be observed when it binds with 3-mercaptopropionic acid, which may be due to its boron nitride coating.
