Información del producto
(rec.) 2,2-Dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane-4-carboxylic acid is a chiral compound that can exist in two forms. The (S) form is the more stable form. It is a trifluoroacetic acid derivative that has been used as a building block for synthesizing other compounds. The (R) form of this compound has been shown to react with benzene to form a chiral product. This reaction sequence has been simulated using quantum mechanical calculations and confirmed by experimental results. The rationalized reaction sequence was also verified by experiments using laser photolysis and ferrocene as a catalyst. In addition, the photochemistry of this compound has been studied through simulations and experiments.
