Descripción:Rostaporfin is an analog of the drug bevacizumab, which is used to treat a number of diseases. Rostaporfin has been shown to inhibit angiogenesis and reduce ocular neovascularization in a rat model of choroidal neovascularization. It also inhibits growth factor-induced proliferation and migration of vascular cells. Rostaporfin is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the mitochondrial cytochrome P450, inhibiting its activity and decreasing oxygen consumption by mitochondria. This results in decreased cellular energy production and reduced cell proliferation in cancer cells, as well as other biological properties. The drug is also biocompatible with human tissue and can be used for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.
