It can also be used as a reagent in organic synthesis due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds with other molecules. Rubidium hydroxide hydrate can be used as an oxidizing agent, as well as being able to reduce many metallic ions such as aluminium, molybdenum, and iron. The pH value of this compound is neutral at 7.
