Descripción:Rifalazil is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX) and lipoxygenase enzymes. It is used to treat bowel disease and has been shown to be effective against human pathogens, such as Streptococcus species. Rifalazil also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines in human macrophages, which may be linked to its clinical relevance for inflammatory bowel disease. This drug is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and has pharmacokinetic properties that are independent of renal function.
