Descripción:Romifidine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used to decrease blood pressure. It is used as an alternative to other NSAIDs in patients with cardiovascular problems or eye disorders. Romifidine's mechanism of action involves the inhibition of cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase, which are enzymes that promote the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins and leukotrienes. This drug also has antinociceptive properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit norepinephrine uptake. Romifidine has been shown to have dose-dependent effects on heart rate and cardiac output, as well as on locomotor activity and energy metabolism in mammals. The clinical relevance of these effects remains unclear at this time.
