Descripción:CMP5 is an antimicrobial peptide that was originally isolated from calf thymus. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by altering mitochondrial membrane potential and induction of apoptosis. CMP5 also inhibits the replication of herpes simplex virus, which may be due to its HDAC inhibitor activity. The synthesis of CMP5 is most commonly accomplished using a titration calorimetry technique.
