Descripción:HS 38 is a prodrug that is metabolized in the body to produce a selective cytotoxic agent known as HS-189. This drug candidate has been shown to have a high degree of selectivity for cancer cells, but not healthy cells. It has also been shown to minimize the side effects of chemotherapy and improve responsiveness to the treatment. HS 38 has shown efficacy in animal models of chronic pain and brain infarction, as well as in cell culture. This drug candidate can be used systemically or postoperatively to maximize efficacy and minimize toxicity.
