Orelabrutinib is a potent inhibitor of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK). It has been shown to inhibit the BTK enzyme in both human and mouse cells, which prevents activation of the B-cell receptor and inhibits immunoglobulin production. Orelabrutinib is also a 5-HT1A agonist and has been shown to have anti-cancer effects on drug-resistant acute lymphocytic leukemia. The drug binds to the active site of BTK as a covalent inhibitor, resulting in its inhibition. Orelabrutinib also acts as an antagonist at serotonin receptors 5-HT1A, leading to its potential therapeutic effects in autoimmune diseases.
