This peptide also has an affinity for metal ions, which allows it to be used as a probe to detect the presence of these ions in solution. Suc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Phe-SBzl binds to human immunoglobulin G (IgG) and can be used in analytical methods that use x ray diffraction data.
