Selenium is a chemical element that has been shown to have anticancer properties. Selenium is an essential trace mineral for humans and animals, with high values found in Brazil nuts, seafood, grains, cereals, eggs, beef liver, pork liver, and oysters. Selenium is also required for photosynthesis in plants and algae where it acts as a cofactor
