Descripción

Sodium 2-(2-amino-3-benzoylphenyl)acetate is a coumarin derivative that is used as an anti-inflammatory drug. It has minimal toxicity and can be administered to humans at doses of up to 1000 mg/day. The molecular weight of this compound is 232.25 g/mol. Sodium 2-(2-amino-3-benzoylphenyl)acetate inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), which causes inflammation, by inhibiting phosphodiesterase (PDE). In animal studies, this compound was found to have a dose dependent inhibitory effect on the production of PGE2 with minimal toxicities in rats and mice. This drug also inhibited mitochondrial membrane depolarization, increased levels of ATP and improved mitochondrial function in mouse fibroblast cells.
