Descripción:Sodium cocoyl isethionate is a surfactant and detergent that is used in pharmaceutical preparations. It is a liquid with a pH of 7.5-8.5 and has an average molecular weight of 400-600 Da. Sodium cocoyl isethionate may be used as an emulsifier, cleansing agent, or foaming agent in the cosmetics industry. It also has been shown to be effective against skin cancer cells, neutralizing free radicals to prevent cellular damage. The chemical stability of sodium cocoyl isethionate can be improved by adding ethylene diamine, which also helps to reduce the risk of skin irritation from glutamic acid and urea in cosmetic formulations. Sodium cocoyl isethionate may also be used as an anti-inflammatory ingredient for topical applications due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes.
