N-Succinimidyl bromoacetate is a cross-linking agent that binds to proteins through an amide bond. N-Succinimidyl bromoacetate is used in the study of human serum and collagen. It has been shown to be able to cross-link DNA, RNA, and protein molecules. The chemical structure of N-succinimidyl bromoacetate is similar to that of succinic acid, which is a naturally occurring compound found in the human body. N-succinimidyl bromoacetate has also been shown to have antiviral properties against influenza virus.
