Descripción

(R)-Sulforaphane is a natural compound that is found in cruciferous vegetables. It has been shown to have anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties, which are due to its capacity to activate detoxification enzymes. In vivo models of colorectal adenocarcinoma show that (R)-sulforaphane can inhibit the growth and proliferation of cancer cells by inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. (R)-Sulforaphane also has antioxidative and neuroprotective properties. This compound has been shown to stimulate transcriptional regulation of genes involved in the antioxidant response, including glutathione S-transferase, catalase, and superoxide dismutase. (R)-Sulforaphane also protects against oxidative damage by scavenging reactive oxygen species.
