• Descripción: Sodium propyl p-hydroxybenzoate is a fatty acid that is used as an antimicrobial agent in pharmaceutical preparations. It is also used as an antioxidant to prevent the oxidation of drugs and cosmetics. Sodium propyl p-hydroxybenzoate has been shown to have anticarcinogenic properties in mice, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cell proliferation and induce apoptosis. The human serum concentration of sodium propyl p-hydroxybenzoate ranges from 0.01 to 1 g/L when it is ingested orally or applied topically. This compound has been shown to have therapeutic effects against bacterial vaginosis, with the best results for vaginal treatment being seen when it was administered twice a day for seven days.
