• Descripción: Solvent yellow 2 (SY2) is a fluorescent dye that can be used as a fluorescence probe in analytical methods. SY2 is an inhibitor of the polymerase chain reaction, which suggests that it may have inhibitory properties. SY2 binds to basic protein and inhibits enzymatic activity. It has been shown to have genotoxic activity and may cause DNA damage, but it does not affect cell viability. In addition, SY2 has been shown to be photostable and is not affected by matrix effects or biological studies.
