Sodium 4-Amino-N-(5-Methylisoxazol-3-Yl)Benzenesulfonamide is a synthetic vitamin B12 analog that has been shown to have a suppressive effect on the growth of bacteria, including Staphylococcus. It has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis when used topically. Sodium 4-Amino-N-(5-Methylisoxazol-3-Yl)Benzenesulfonamide is available as an ophthalmic solution and as an oral preparation for the treatment of bacterial infections. This drug should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity to amines or other sulfonamides.
